Munkhbileg graduated from the Department of Geology and Mineralogy, Faculty of Natural Sciences at the National University of Mongolia in 1995. He began his career as a lecturer in the same department shortly after graduation. In 1997, he earned his master’s degree in Geology with a thesis titled “Research on the genesis of the Rock Gold Deposit of Bumbat.”
Between 1995 and 1999, and again from 2009 to 2016, Munkhbileg served as a senior lecturer and Assistant Professor in the Department of Geology and Geophysics at the National University of Mongolia.
In September 2016, he joined the Mineral Resources Information Technology Center at the Mineral Resource and Petroleum Authority as a senior officer responsible for managing the Geodatabase. He was promoted to Director of the center in May 2018, a position he held until September 2020. Following this, N. Munkhbileg was appointed Director of the Mineral Resources Taxation Department at the Large Taxpayer Office of the General Department of Taxation, serving from September 2020 to March 2024.
Currently, he is the Director of the Mineral Resources Research, Planning, and Economic Department at the National Geological Survey.
During his tenure at the Tax Office, Munkhbileg earned the title of accredited tax advisor. He is also recognized as a Consulting geologist of Mongolia.
