Richard Oldcorn (MSc, FGS, CGeol) is a Corporate Consultant (Project Evaluation) and Director of SRK Consulting (UK). Richard has over 25 years’ experience in mining project due diligence and open pit mine geotechnics and engineering geology around the world. He is an experienced project manager for both due diligence mandates and technical studies over a wide range of different projects for a variety of commodities, including base and precious metals, coal, and oil shale. Richard has managed large multi-disciplinary technical teams carrying out independent due diligence on behalf of companies seeking listing on the major stock exchanges around the world, as well as for mining companies and financial institutions undertaking major acquisitions and smaller scale investments. He also acts as lead engineer for project finance mandates during due diligence review stage, the lenders term sheet definition, and for ongoing monitoring during construction and operation. Richard project managed successive large due diligence reviews of Russian coal company SUEK’s 30 operating underground and open pit coal mines from 2008 to 2011 and also has managed annual audits of ERG’s large chrome, iron ore, copper, coal, and manganese assets in Kazakhstan and Africa since 2009.
